Lusaka Helps mobilise individuals to fund and take practical action to combat COVID-19 and its effects in their communities. It also creates and disseminates up-to-date, accurate information to raise COVID-19 awareness across Zambia.

How you can support this initiative

You can fund as little as 1 Community Package or as many as 100, or more! If you are in a position to help and support a family with food and basic necessities, Lusaka Helps has the systems and an army of volunteers to distribute the packages to the people in need. Your money will go a long way.

Lusaka Helps are transparent about donations and their use, sharing all the facts on their Facebook page. Community Care Packages are distributed through locally embedded organisations including Bauleni Parish Home Based Care, Special Hope Network and Undikumbukire Project Zambia (UP Zambia).

Lusaka Helps has three initiatives to support Lusaka's frontline healthcare workers in various isolation facilities - 'Face Shields', 'Operation Mask Up' and 'Feed our Heroes'. These projects help provide essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and meals for health workers who are away from their homes and families.

How you can support this initiative

You can choose to fund face shields, masks or meals for front-line health workers! If you are in a position to assist, then Lusaka Helps have the systems and an army of volunteers to distribute these items to the people in need. Your money will go a long way.

Healthcare

Creating and disseminating info about COVID-19 was Lusaka Helps’ initial driving force and continues to be the backbone of their work. Creatives, donors, health experts and content creators have come together to brainstorm, develop and share locally relevant information, aimed at equipping Zambians with the knowledge that they need and the ability to act.

This group of Lusaka Helps volunteers is working closely with the Government to ensure all content published on various social media platforms is aligned to that of the Ministry of Health.

Through their social media platforms, the Lusaka Helps' team is committed to providing Zambian’s with a wealth of information on the status of the pandemic in Zambia. These platforms also contain a collection of localised materials aimed at education, prevention and mobilisation in the Zambian context.
