Succulent Agave Americana

Agave is a long-leaved succulent plant that naturally forms a rosette shape and produces a flower spire of attractive cup-shaped blooms. The plant is drought tolerant and perennial, making it ideal for the mature arid garden.

Foliage	bluish-grey (glaucous) to greyish-green in colou
Watering	Water well during the active growing period – enough to make the potting mixture thoroughly moist, but allow the top two-thirds of the potting mixture to dry between waterings.
Light	a well-lit position, such as a sunny windowsill.
Temperature	Agave americana likes warm temperatures in summer and cooler in winter with a minimum of 10°C (50°F).
Toxicity	The sap of this plant is poisonous and can cause severe skin irritation or digestive problems.
Pests and Problems	Snout weevils are probably the most damaging pests to agaves, Rotting at the base and wilting of the leaves indicate overwatering or poor drainage.
Size	Diameter: 2m (6 feet), High: 8m (25 feet)
