Scarves & Shawls

They are amongst the most popular fashion accessories, looking chic and warm

Scarves and shawls are amongst the most popular fashion accessories, especially for women because it keeps them looking chic and warm. Scarves come in all sizes and in various types such as infinity scarves, small headscarves, and fuzzy crocheted scarves. A shawl, on the other hand, is a finely finished piece of wool fabric that is large in length and may be shaped as a rectangle or square. They are usually big enough to be wrapped around the shoulders more than once. Browse through this category for various scarves and shawls available in Zambian stores.

While scarves are primarily worn to keep yourself warm, shawls are wrapped around the body to either accent an outfit, cover bare skin, or observe religious rules.

As a matter of fact, silk scarves are some of the most searched accessories right now. And large scarves are fashionable for 2022 – especially if you wear them on your hair. A scarve is a broad band of cloth worn about the shoulders, around the neck, or over the head

Shawls are used in order to keep warm, to complement a costume, and for symbolic reasons. One famous type of shawl is the tallit, worn by Jewish men during prayers and ceremonies. In Christianity, women have used shawls as a head covering.

Keep it traditional with an oversized scarf that can be draped across your neck and shoulders as you brace for the windy spring days. Step into more modern looks with a small (maybe silk) scarf—similar to an ascot—that sits on your neck as a sophisticated accessory.

Snood. Snoods are wrap-around scarves that function like an infinity scarf around your neck, while also shielding your head from the cold like a hood. Often made from a thicker wool, they also stop heat escaping through your head.

Are called bandanas, neck scarves or neckerchiefs and are made of a light material, and quality small square scarves are usually made from silk or cotton. A bandana is around 19-20 in (50cm) square. Neckerchiefs are larger, around 26 in (70cm) square. Both sizes are made for and worn by both women and men.

A stole would be known more as a formal shawl of expensive fabric used around the shoulders over a party dress or ball gown. A stole is typically narrower than a shawl, and of simpler construction than a cape, wrapped and carried about the shoulders or arms.
