UTV

An off-road vehicle with two side-by-side seats and enclosed within a roll cage structure.

Utility Terrain Vehicles, or UTVs, are built and used more for work than recreation. They are large, powerful, able to seat passengers side by side, and built with lots of storage space. They're commonly used to haul equipment and supplies in locations that make using a truck impractical or impossible.

A side-by-side vehicle, is an off-road vehicle with a minimum of two seats positioned side-by-side and enclosed within a roll cage structure. They have a minimum of four wheels and are operated by foot controls and a steering wheel.

An ATV is the more maneuverable vehicle compared to a UTV, as ATVs are able to handle tight turns and dense timber or brush with ease. Also, narrow off-road trails may only be open to ATVs (and motorcycles/dirt bikes), though some restricted routes can accommodate 50-inch SxS UTVs.

How fast does a UTV go? Generally speaking, 50 mph is top speed. For most circumstances, this is certainly fast enough. In some UTVs, you can expect the top speed of around 80 mph.

According to U.S. News, UTVs or side-by-sides are typically safer than the traditional ATV quad. There are more “safety measures built-in” on a UTV than on a four wheeler.

An off-highway vehicle (OHV) is any motorized land vehicle predominantly used for recreational purposes on unimproved roads, trails, and other approved use areas not suitable for conventional two-wheel-drive vehicular travel.

UTV is a generic term for a side-by-side. The RTV is a Kubota side-by-side.

Unlike an ATV, a UTV has car-like controls with pedals, a steering wheel and either a bench seat or a more technical seat that resembles a seat you'd find in a car. They're called side-by-sides because they usually have two seats beside each other, sometimes with the addition of back seats.

The RZR is a sport UTV specifically built to provide you with an unforgettable off-road experience.

The Razor UTV is considered the pinnacle of sports UTVs and the most fun you can have ripping through sand dunes and deserts, with your friends or family along for the ride.

They’re versatile enough to get you through any terrain. Narrow trails that were once only accessible by ATVs are now open to UTVs thanks to the RZR.

Razors provide the perfect blend of power and performance. Razor’s are fast, powerful and comfortable, allowing you to navigate any surface with a top speed of 55 – 65 MPH. If you’re looking for an exhilarating way to climb the high dunes, this is it.
