Self Wound (PSA) Tapes: A carrier which is coated on one side with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) and on the other with a silicone release coating. Note: there is no release liner. Typical uses for self wound tapes include packaging tapes, electrical tapes, masking tapes, and duct tapes.
The most used filmic backings are; Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC),Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), and Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET).
Silicone glue - This type of glue is one of the most popular adhesives used in cardmaking.
The strongest adhesive by far was the Loctite PL Fast Grab Premium. It held 115 pounds on the wood block and 92 pounds on the PVC block. The next strongest adhesive, Liquid Nail's Fuze It All Surface, held 100 pounds on the wood and 64 pounds on the PVC.
Glue sticks are solid and hard adhesives in twist or push-up tubes. Users can apply glue by holding the open tube to keep their fingers clean and rubbing the exposed stick against a surface.
Water 40% Evaporates to allow the glue to dry.
Acrylic polymer 40% Polymerizes to solidify dried glue.
Sodium stearate 10% This soap helps emulsify the acrylic, and lubricates the glue to apply smoothly.
Polyethylene glycol 3% Keeps dried glue somewhat moist and flexible.
Polyoxyethylene monooctylphhenyl ether 2% Emulsifier.
N-Vinylpyrrolidone monomer 2% Polymerizes as the glue dries.
2-amino isobutanol 2% pH buffer, to neutralize acid.
Sodium hydroxide 0.3% Alkali, to keep stick pH above 10.
