Open Range Solar deep cycle gel batteries are an affordable and reliable storage solution, they have a design life of 900-1200 cycles at a 50% depth of discharge. These batteries have a wide variety of uses, from battery backup for camping or dual battery systems to battery banks for larger power backup and Solar off Grid solutions. The 100Ah battery stores 1,2kw/h of power of which 600w/h is useable.

Important when calculating battery storage size:

Gel batteries are not designed to be discharged beyond 50%, if you do, then the cycle life is severely negatively impacted – just have a look at the specification sheet. This means that a 12V System should not be drained beyond 12V, a 24V system not below 22,5V and a 48V system not below 46V
